Job Description:

Basic Job Purpose - Under the supervision and guidance of the Security Manager, this position is responsible for patrolling and monitoring hotel facility to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees and the protection of hotel property and assets. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS , OVERNIGHT SHIFT, AND HOLIDAYS.

Required Functions or Duties 75% of time

1) Monitor Surveillance Cameras

2) Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation

3) Submit incident reports/DAR (daily activity report)

4) Observe the signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances

5) Knowledge of hotel operations

6) Foot patrol of assigned areas

7) Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

8) Respond to emergency situations; provide crowd control

9) Report any unusual incident, guest complaints, lost and found, breakage and losses to the Manager/Supervisor.

10) Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences

11) Report in detail any suspicious incidents

12) Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates

13) Perform first aid or CPR, as needed

14) Check in vendors, guests, and new employees; responsible for the SALTO access cards.

Experience and Skills:


Additional Job Functions or Duties 25% of time

1) Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

2) Continuous grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

3) Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.

4) Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

5) Manual ability to use, carry and operate all necessary equipment.

6) Additional duties, as required by supervisor or Director of Facilities.


1) Minimum two years previous Security department experience preferred at a similar quality property

2) Excellent communication skills and guest service skills

3) Excellent Report writing skills

4) CPR certified

5) Guard Card is required for this position

6) Ability to prioritize and organize work

7) Ensure confidentiality of guest data

8) Strong written and verbal communication skills, using appropriate phone salutations and etiquette.

9) Must possess a keen attention to detail

10) Must be an independent worker, self-starter and problem solver

11) Must possess a positive attitude and use good judgment

12) Team player capable of working with multiple departments

13) Must be able to follow directions and give directions to others

14) Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols

15) Surveillance skills and attention to details

16) Ability to work for an extended workday

17) Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
