Job Description:


Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, oversee all HR functions in order to support hotel operations to achieve its goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will ensure that all Hotel Constance HR standards are implemented and maintained accordingly and in compliance with local labor laws and regulations. They will closely monitor the current labor market situation in order to be competitive. Establish and maintain good working relationship with all internal colleagues as well as external business partners.

The Human Resources Manager is an individual contributor responsible for the full complement of the HR function including, but not limited to: employee relations, compensation planning, benefits strategy, talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, HRIS and compliance.


  • Recruitment and staffing which includes posting, background check, assessment, screening interview, offer letters and job fairs.
  • On-boarding of new associates into the HR/Payroll system and process all new hire paperwork to include I-9, benefits, taxes, wages.
  • Participation in all associate/manager disciplinary actions. Employee counseling/mentoring/termination.
  • Monitors and maintains associate benefit programs.
  • Oversees the maintenance of all HR records including benefit enrollment billings, reconciliations, worker's compensation, COBRA, FMLA.
  • Handle HR transactions to include selection, promotion, transfer, terminations, performance reviews and absenteeism.

  • Development and implementation of employee recognition programs.
  • Planning and execution of employee special events (Housekeeping Appreciation Week, Thanksgiving, Holiday Parties and other special event celebrations).
  • Partner with department managers to ensure that SOPs are up-to-date and utilized effectively.
  • Develop and roll-out training programs with a focus on and improve guest service and loyalty.
  • Ensure employees are certified as deemed appropriate for their roles (e.g. TIPS training, food handling and guard cards)
  • Coordinate and participate in Manager On Duty (M.O.D.) coverage.
  • Property contact for Insurance/Liability issues.

Experience and Skills:


  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Continuous grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Sit for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Manual ability to use, carry and operate all necessary equipment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Requires comprehensive experience in multiple HR competencies including employment, compensation, organizational development, leadership development, employee relations, benefits administration, and worker's compensation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct effective group meetings, and training.
  • Ability maintain cooperative working relationships with Employees at all levels, including guests and vendors.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and be able to translate into both languages; both, oral and written is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point, and operate simple and complicated Human Resources Information Systems.
  • High level of interpersonal management and leadership skills, and ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate and work with leaders and hourly staff to resolve conflicts and establish positive relationships.
